What Happened During My “Audition”?

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by someone who let me sit down to fill an application. I was sneaky enough to actually film the application form (where it didn’t reveal the name) and I feature it in the video below. Some parts of the application, I couldn’t fill in on the spot like my social insurance number, and my measurements. The agent came down and checked off “non-union” in a box and filled in my measurements.

Then he asked me about my past experience. I had mentioned in my application that I was an extra in Camp Rock 2, and he said that the volunteers were originally suppose to be paid extras, but the production company decided to use volunteers so many extras lost their job, which I found kind of funny that Camp Rock 2 would choose to save money on something like that.

Anyway, he then took my headshot that I brought with me, he told me that whenever there is a job, he calls first and then sends an email. If I can’t take the job, he said there would be no pressure but always make sure that you are positive that you can make it if you take the job. He also mentioned that once I got on set, I would have to fill in an application, and to never put my home address on my application, instead put the agency’s address. It was very quick and definitely exciting! I’ll get back to you guys once I start going more often!

  2. That is absolutely *awesome* that you are with an agency! I actually am interested in acting as well (I do musical theatre) and have been searching for agencies, acting tips, how to cry, etc. I am SO GLAD I found your youtube channel! I listed it in my favorites on my computer and will be checking out all of your videos.

I would loooove any tips that I could use for finding an agency! I have been hoping to become an extra for a movie perhaps this Summer. Help?

Thanks for the advice on here! ^_^

  3. I did my research and was told CESD was a good beginner's agency for actors who are barely starting out. If I mail them a recent photo instead of a fancy shmansy headshot would they care?
